hey hey 5th hour. Today we got busy with some quadratic equations.. woop woop
First with those basics
Quadratic Equation: An equation that can be written like so-
when a DOESNT = 0
Solving that thang
Factoring:

Put equation in the form as written above.
(2x-1)(x+3)=0
Put equation into form (dx+e)(fx+g) where df=a, eg=c, and dg+ef=b
2x-1=0
x+3=0
Set both sets of parentheses equal to zero
x=1/2
x=-3
Solve both equations. Make sure to check that both solutions work!!
Quadratic Formula:

By plugging in the numbers from your equation, you can use this formula to find that oh so elusive x...

Another way to factor:
Lets say you got yourself a toughie, and you want an easier way to factor it....

Subtract 4 from both sides
Take 1/2 of b (in this case it 'b' is 6) and square it.
For this equation you get 9. Add 9 to both sides.
Factor. It should be much easier to factor than before
Take the root of both sides
Solve for x
A very 'Special' Equation ;)
Sometimes a quadratic equation may be written in the form-

This can be solved by taking the root of both sides, resulting in-
(dont forget the +-, its a tad important)
